About Blessed with Bipolar
I wrote “Blessed with Bipolar”to let you know that the disorder is not a death sentence. I was 40 years-old. I had been hospitalized seven times for bipolar. I had lost too many jobs to count and I had recently been expelled from St. Thomas University School of Law - one day after the Dean learned that I have bipolar disorder. Acting as my own attorney, I sued the school. I came to believe that the lawsuit was my last chance to have a life. Four years later, I lost. I was out of work, out of money, unmarried, and had $40,000 in school loan debt. It was then that I realized how richly God has Blessed me with Bipolar.
God will bless you in the best and the worst of it.I n fact, when you harness the symptoms, you can use bipolar to actually help you to succeed. In spite of bipolar (and with the help of it) I have grown in my Christian faith, earned football scholarships, completed a masters degree in psychology (while locked on a psych ward), run a marathon, and earned a scholarship to Law School. And I have more peace, joy, and love in my life than I ever could have imagined. You can make it, too!
